Or recipes?

I really can't complain about Hubby; he's a stickler for wanting a recipe to follow if he's making a new dish. He might play with it a bit to get it to taste the way he wants, especially after he's made it a couple of times, but he does use recipes.

Several weeks ago, I was walking Lacey down the driveway when I noticed the remains of something that had once been living in the leaves by the side of the drive. Yeah, I colored my hair again today. I'd been procrastinating and procrastinating but finally bit the bullet and did it while the kids were at school. (Just remembered: FlyLady called Wednesday anti-procrastination day! Maybe I subconsciously kept something from her website!)

Today we got a new member of the family....

Her name is Lacey.

She's about  6 weeks old, has a golden brown coat with white boots and a white muzzle. She has a white  "collar" and a white tip on her tail, and right now she's sleeping on a bed of newspaper in a clear plastic box.

We're not exactly prepared for her.

the neighbors brought a kitten to us today. they found her in the wheelwell of a car across the street. they were going away for a few hours and asked if we could watch her for a bit. i was under the impression they were going to keep her, but this turned out not to be the case.

Tonight was the awards ceremony for Boy #2. Only the "big" awards were given out; smaller ones, like perfect attendance, will be given out next week (on the last day of school).

I hate homework. Not housework, though that's a subject in itself. Homework. Like the homework that my kids bring home from school.

Now the Girl is pretty self-motivated. She'll get her work done in a timely fashion. And Boy #1 knows what he's supposed to do. But Boy #2? Different story entirely.

I forgot to change the alarm time on my alarm clock! I got up at 7:15 this morning, a time which, if we weren't in a rush to get out of the house, the boys would be leisurely putting on their clothes and telling me they didn't have any socks. as a grilled hamburger with both American and Swiss cheese on it. Put a garden salad with lots and lots of cucumber in it on the side and life is good!
